Keter buys Curver from Newell Rubbermaid
Israel's Keter Plastics, Herzliya, has acquired Curver Consumer Products (www.curver.com), Corby / UK, the European indoor organization and home storage division of US-based Newell Rubbermaid (www.newellco.com), Freeport, Illinois, for an undisclosed sum. The deal was transacted through Keter's Jardin International Holding in Rijen / The Netherlands. Sami Sagol, CEO and principal shareholder of the family-owned Keter, plans to widen group sales from currently USD 700m to EUR 3-4 bn by 2010. Curver adds sales of EUR 140m. Newell Rubbermaid said it expects to post a transaction-related non-cash loss of USD 75-95m in this year's first quarter.
