Greiner acquires packaging business in Ireland
Greiner Packaging (Kremsmünster / Austria; www.greiner-gpi.com) is buying the business of Wilsanco Plastics (Dungannon / Northern Ireland; www.wilsanco.com), effective 9 January 2006, for an undisclosed sum. Both are family-owned companies operating in the rigid plastic and plastic/cardboard packaging sectors. Wilsanco has 200 employees and had a turnover of GBP 11.3m (EUR 17m) in 2004. Its owner Jeremy Wilson and his management team will continue to run the business after the takeover is completed. Greiner Packaging has 17 production sites in Europe, a workforce of almost 2,000 and had sales of EUR 202.8m in 2004.
