HTP Mould-making unit to be sold?
Philips Electronics (Eindhoven / The Netherlands; www.philips.com) is reported to be selling the mould-making division of its injection moulding and tooling subsidiary High Tech Plastics (HTP, Eindhoven / The Netherlands; www.htp.philips.com) to Dutch private equity company Varova. HTP Tooling produces moulds for the optical industry, particularly for the production of contact lenses, and employs 120 people at factories in Eindhoven and at Suzhou / China. The company also provides tooling to the automotive industry in Germany for the production of steering column control systems. The plastics processing segment of HTP´s business is not being sold, Philips said.
