For some time now, Pexopol (Krems an der Donau / Austria; www.pexopol.com), a supplier of regenerates made of certified secondary raw materials, has been selling single-grade granulates made of POM homo and copolymers, polyamide 6 and 6.6, and PBT under the trade names “pexoform”, “pexomid” and “pexodur”. They are said to be suitable substitutes for virgin materials in a variety of technical applications (see Plasteurope.com of 07.05.2019). The range of materials is now being expanded to include a separate product family based on ABS under the name “pexolac”.
These materials, which can be coloured according to the Pantone system, are suitable for use in electrical appliances, the automotive industry and the sanitary and garden sectors, among others, the company said. Blends with other polymers, such as polycarbonate, and the addition of mineral fillers are also possible.
As a commercial agent, Pexopol managing director Alexander Datzinger cooperates exclusively with owner-managed small and medium-sized companies, including masterbatch manufacturer AW (Lichtenfels-Schney / Germany; www.aw-color.de), recyclate supplier Siviplast (Caldogno / Italy; www.siviplast.it), and the standard and special engineering plastic compounds producer Formac (Formigine / Italy; www.formac-srl.it). Pexolac ABS regranulates are produced by compounder Polymerwerkstatt (Krems an der Donau / Austria; www.polymerwerkstatt.com).
