PETROPLAST VINORA
Films: Marketing merger for the two Swiss market leaders / Packaging from one source
As briefly reported in Plasteurope.com 6, 2002, already, Petroplast AG (CH-9204 Andwil) and Vinora AG (CH-8640 Rapperswil- Jona) will be operating jointly on the market under the name PetroplastVinora AG (CH-9204 Andwil; www.petroplastvinora.ch) as of July 2002. “A longer name, but shorter routes” is the slogan that these two leading Swiss manufacturers for recyclable film and packaging have adopted for their marketing merger. “This is basically only a logical step, given that the two companies have been in the same ownership since 1992 and have shared the same operative management since 1997”, explains Dr. Benno Schneider, CEO and chairman of the board of directors.
The PetroplastVinora Group, with 420 employees, produced some 35,000 t of polyethylene packaging last year, achieving sales of approximately CHF 120m and satisfying around a third of demand on the Swiss market. Even if the company is striving to double its exports, Switzerland will still remain the Group´s main market over the long term. The two production sites with more than 40 extruders, 8 state- of-the-art flexo-printing units and more than 80 making-up systems ensure a high-level of production reliability at the two polyethylene packaging specialists´, who are set to “mutually enhance each other in terms of technology, innovation, design and research”. Customers can now call upon an all-in service from a single source – proceeding from the packaging idea, via design and production, right through to delivery.
