PERSTORP FERGUSON LTD
New glass reinforced phenolic compounds
Perstorp Ferguson Ltd (Aycliffe Industrial Estate, GB-Newton Aycliffe, Durham DL5 6UE) continues to push the performance barriers with its range of glass reinforced phenolic compounds. Following the successful commissioning of their dedicated glass phenolic compounding line at Newton Aycliffe, Perstorp has added a number of new compounds to its portfolio. The special production line, which has been designed to retain glass fibre integrity and length, is now turning out a variety of glass reinforced phenolics for engineering applications.

The latest compound to be introduced in this new series is A2740, a 55% glass reinforced phenolic in granular form. A2740 provides exceptional mechanical and thermal performance. A combination of innovative compounding technique and resin technology results in the A2740 glass phenolic providing the highest mechanical performance currently available from any UK manufacturer. The current development programme for glass phenolics includes ammonia free, high temperature (HDT 250 C) grades for commutator, automotive, aerospace and defence applications.
