In response to the estimated 5% to 8% annual growth of pharmaceutical markets in Latin America and Brazil in particular, Swiss producer Perlen Packaging (Perlen; www.perlenpackaging.com) said that in the future it will rely on its cooperation with the Brazilian PVC film specialist Cipatex (Cerquilho; www.cipatex.com.br).
Following the modernisation of a calendaring line at the Cipatex plant in São Paulo, the company will supply PVC mono films to the Perlen’s Brazilian plant in Anápolis. At the same time, the Swiss processor is investing in its own PVDC coating line at the site, which will then coat the Cipatex films. Commissioning is scheduled for the end of 2022. It will then be the company’s third film coating line following additions in Switzerland and China, Perlen CEO Marc Haller said. He did not disclose details about the amount of the investment.
