The plastics division of Belgian coffee specialist and packaging company Miko (Oud-Turnhout; www.mikocoffee.com) will have two new heads from 1 January 2015 onwards. After the business’ current manager, Jan Michielsen, retires on 31 December, the activities will be overseen by Karl Hermans and Kristof Michielsen – both members of majority Miko shareholder the Michielsen family.

In addition to his role as sales director of the group’s Miko Pac business, Hermans will in the new year also oversee marketing, quality and administration. As for Kristof Michielsen, his activities as production director will be joined by R&D as well as the management of Miko Pac’s plant in Bydgoszcz / Poland. Both men will be proposed as directors at the group’s next general annual meeting in May 2015.

Jan Michielsen will remain on the board as a non-executive director, while Miko CEO Frans Van Tilborg will become sole managing director from January 2015 onwards.

The group posted a rise of 7.5% in turnover to EUR 149m last year, with the plastics division accounting for EUR 71.6m, or 48.1% – for more details, see Plasteurope.com of 11.04.2014.
