Strengthening its position in China, German extrusion machinery manufacturer Reifenhäuser Group (Troisdorf; www.reifenhauser.com) has announced the appointment of Eberhard Wenger as head of management and services at its Chinese subsidiary Reifenhäuser Plastic Machinery (Suzhou). In his new position, he will oversee blown film, cast film, thermoforming sheet, nonwovens, WPC, monofilament and strapping tape technologies with respect to local sales, project management, technical customers consulting and aftersales services.
The appointment underlines the importance of China to the group, which is one of the largest importers of extrusion systems into the country. Reifenhäuser Plastic Machinery CEO Ralf Pampus said, “We see great potential for further growth in Asia and especially here in China. Within the next few months we expect the import of 18 extrusion lines of the Reifenhäuser Group.”
Suzhou-based Reifenhäuser Plastic Machinery was founded ten years ago, and saw its activities boosted in April last year when new staff were hired for the site, partly in response to rising regional sales, mostly for PET applications, barrier films, surface protection films, agricultural films and nonwovens. The site employs more than 20 workers.
