BASF: Ralph Schweens new president in South America

German-based BASF (Ludwigshafen; www.basf.com) has announced that as of October 2013, Ralph Schweens will be the new president of the company's South America division in São Paulo, Brazil. He succeeds Alfred Hackenberger, who is retiring after 30 years with the company.
Schweens, who joined BASF more than 20 years ago, has been the managing director of BASF Mexicana (Mexico City; www.basf.com.mx). Michael Stumpp, will assume Schweens' position in Mexico. He has been in various management positions with BASF since 1996.
