Ferro announces CEO transition / Peter Thomas to serve as interim CEO

In mid-November 2012, Ferro Corporation (Cleveland, Ohio / USA; www.ferro.com) announced that James Kirsch stepped down as the company's president and CEO and also resigned from his position on the board of directors. He will be succeeded by Peter Thomas, operating vice president of Polymer and Ceramic Engineered Materials, who will serve as interim president and CEO. Kirsch's position on the board will be assumed by William Lawrence.
The company's board of directors has engaged a third-party firm to help in the search for a permanent successor to Kirsch and will consider both internal and external candidates.
