US automotive parts supplier Visteon (Van Buren Township, Michigan; www.visteon.com) on 10 August let go of CEO Don Stebbins amid what media reports say grave differences of opinion on strategy, more specifically Stebbins’ plans to grow business through acquisitions – a policy with which the company’s board reportedly disagreed. In the wake of his departure, Timothy D. Leuliette was named new interim board chairman and CEO.
Previously the chair of the group’s organisation and compensation committee, Leuliette was appointed as a company director in 2010. Prior to Visteon, he served as CEO and COO of major international auto suppliers, including as CEO of Dura Automotive, a company he sold off in 2010.
At the same time as Stebbins’ departure was announced, Visteon appointed Francis M. Scricco and David L. Treadwell to its board of directors, raising the number of members to eight. While Scricco will serve on the corporate governance and nominating committee and as chairperson of the organisation and compensation committee, Treadwell will serve on Visteon’s audit as well as finance and corporate strategy committees.
