Lego to change its personnel structure in 2012 / Management reshuffle in Central Europe
Effective 1 January 2012, the Lego Group (Billund / Denmark; www.lego.com) will be restructured. Along with CEO Jørgen Vig Knudstorp, 21 management members will stand atop the company. The aim of the restructuring is to raise Lego´s flexibility and competitiveness. The toy manufacturer just recently announced that former CFO Sten Daugaard will leave the company by the end of 2011 (see Plasteurope.com of 18.11.2011).
As part of the new personnel structure, Dirk Engehausen, managing director of Lego GmbH Central Europe (Grasbrunn / Germany) since 2004, will become European director of the Lego Group. In this new position, he will report directly to CEO Knudstorp. Engehausen´s position will be filled by Michael Kehlet, current head of "Operations" at Lego´s German branch in Grasbrunn near Munich.

Apart from the new managing director, Lego Central Europe´s management team will also consist of Christian Korbes (vice president marketing) and Søren Lund (vice president sales). The German subsidiary is still on the lookout for a new operations director.
"We have decided to adjust our organisation in order to be prepared for future challenges and further growth", says CEO Knudstorp, explaining the restructuring was necessary to continue offering first class service to its customers and to develop the right products for them. "The organisation so far was not made to withstand the new challenges."
