At its recent annual meeting in Barcelona / Spain, the members of the European Plastics Recyclers Association (EuPR, Brussels / Belgium; www.eupr.org) elected Anton Emans of CeDo Recycling as their new president. He replaces outgoing president Bernard Merkx, who held the post for the past 12 years.
Upon his nomination, Emans announced the two key objectives pursued by EuPR, including a European ban on landfilling plastics waste as well as an increase of mechanical recycling targets for plastics across various legislations. In addition, he said the organisation would strive to keep as much plastic waste in Europe as possible and to increase the sorting quality.
Other new EuPR board members include Hans-Jürgen Sommer, Jim Armstrong, Sébastien Petithuguenin, Paolo Glerean and David Eslava.
