Following the retirement of Guy Moilliet, US plastics machinery manufacturer Milacron (Batavia, Ohio; www.milacron.com) announced on 15 January 2010 that it has appointed Gerold Schley managing director of Ferromatik Milacron Maschinenbau (Malterdingen / Germany; www.ferromatik.com). Aside from this new role, in which he will oversee Ferromatik’s global injection business, Schley will continue to serve as vice president China operations and global sourcing – a post he took up in November 2009 (see Plasteurope.com of 30.11.2009).

The appointment comes on the heels of what the company says is “significantly increased profitability” in Milacron’s plastics machinery operations in China. David Lawrence, president Milacron Worldwide Plastics, said, “Gerold has had a very positive impact on our operations in China and we are confident in his ability to further strengthen the management team at Ferromatik Milacron Maschinenbau.”
