Israeli PVC sheet producer installs new co-extrusion line / Machinery built by KraussMaffei Berstorff
Israeli semi-finished and finished PC and PVC goods producer Palram Israel (Ramat-Yohanan; www.palram.com) recently commissioned a new co-extrusion line for the manufacture of multiple layer PVC sheet from KraussMaffei Berstorff (Hanover / Germany; www.kraussmaffeiberstorff.com) at its plant in Israel. The machine’s twin screw extruder allows for the manufacture of multi-layer sheet with a width of 2,030 mm, and has an output rate of up to 1,200 kg/h.
Palram has been a long-standing KraussMaffei client. The Israeli group also operates two plants in the UK as well as one in the US, turning out PVC sheet with a width of 2,400 mm as well as decking products. Founded in 1963, the group is considered to be one of the world’s leading manufacturers of semi-finished and finished thermoplastic products, catering to a global clientele that mostly comes from the construction sector. By the time this article went to press, Plasteurope.com had not heard back from the company about total group nameplate capacity or revenues.
Palram is a member of European Polycarbonate Sheet Extruders (EPSE, Brussels / Belgium; www.epse.org) – a sector group of European Plastics Converters (EuPC, Brussels / Belgium; www.plasticsconverters.eu).
