Pactiv Medical ( www.pactiv.com) is the name of a new global strategic partnership in medical packaging between Pactiv Corp. (Europe: P.O. Box 380, NL-1180 AJ Amstelveen) and US-based Rollprint Packaging Products (Addison, Illinois; www.rollprint.com). The new business group, which will operate as a division of Pactiv Corp., combines the former Pactiv subidiaries Sengewald Verpackungen GmbH & Co. KG (D-33780 Halle/Westf.) and Sengewald Klinikprodukte GmbH & Co KG (D-83101 Rohrdorf; www.sengewald.de), which formerly traded jointly as Sengewald Medical Packaging.

According to Pactiv, the alliance combines the technology, production capability and marketing strengths of two leading worldwide players in medical packaging. Products include PVC-free “Propyflex” infusion bags, peelable sealing media for a variety of carrier materials sold under the name “Allegro” and transparent high-barrier film (“ClearFoil”). The alliance has four production sites, including two in Germany and two in the US, which will supply the Asian market.

In the words of Robert Dodrill, president of Rollprint Packaging Products, “There are only a few companies with the production facilities and sales and marketing capacities to supply special medical packaging worldwide. As a global player in this demanding market, we offer production facilities in close proximity to our customers and the possibility of shortening licensing procedures for their products.”
