Rigid plastic food packaging manufacturer Paccor (Zell / Germany; www.paccor.com) has opened a centre for development and innovation at its headquarters in Zell to create a central facility for creation of ideas, designing as well as prototype and sample development of packaging products.
The facility includes a showroom displaying new products, prototypes and Paccor’s product range from all of its European manufacturing units. The centre also features a design studio supported by a mould and tool shop with machinery including a 3D scanner, digital printer, rapid prototyping equipment, CNC machines and a laboratory thermoforming line. The centre will also serve as a conference centre for the company.
Helmut Ruland, Paccor’s director for innovation and technology, said: “For the first time ever, the whole idea generation, design and packaging development process will take place under one roof, which allows for a smooth and accelerated transition from research and development to launch. It is a tremendously exciting initiative.”
