Introducing “Oxsoft L9TM” phthalate-free plasticiser / Replacement for C8/C10 trimellitates
Addressing the difficult supply situation for C8/C10 trimellitates, Oxea (Dallas, Texas / USA; www.oxea-chemicals.com) has expanded its phthalate-free plasticiser range with “Oxsoft L9TM”, a linear trinonyltrimellitate that can serve as a direct replacement. The plasticiser is particularly suitable for use in products that need to meet very rigid demands, including resilient and durable high-temperature automotive cables.
Available in industrial quantities, it is characterised by “excellent” resistance to high temperatures as well as “excellent” cold temperature flexibility, Oxea said, adding that it is also highly resistant to migration and boasts good plasticising efficiency and processability. The company is offering linear C9 alcohol (n-nonanol) as well as linear C9 trimellitate, which it says can also be used in non-fogging automotive interior, special sheets, profiles and gaskets, among others.
