Processing plant inaugurated in Hungary / Film and packaging manufacturer to double output

Hungarian packaging film specialist Ongropack (Kazincbarcika; www.ongropack.hu) has inaugurated a new plant at Szirmabesenyő, near Miskolc, about 25 km from its headquarters site at Kazincbarcika. CEO László Kovacs officially opened the HUF 9.1 bn (almost EUR 30m) facility in the presence of Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán. Relocation of the machinery park will begin shortly.
With sales of HUF 13.5 bn (EUR 43m) in 2017 and 240 employees, Ongropack produces stretch and rigid films that are processed into packaging for beverages, pharmaceutical blister packs and other applications – see Plasteurope.com of 28.06.2017. In addition, the company produces sandwich panels for advertising and construction applications. With the new plant, Kovacs aims to double its annual plastics processing capability in the medium term from around 24,000 t currently (for the most part, PVC).
