Oman’s Octal (Masqat; www.octalglobal.com) in early August announced that it had successfully wrapped up phase two of its PET expansion in the sultanate’s Salalah industrial zone, adding that it expects the facility to reach full production this month already (for earlier coverage, see Plasteurope.com of 16.12.2011). That means the company will be able to turn out 920,000 t/y of PET bottle-grade resin by the end of August.
The additional output is to go towards the North and South American markets, Octal said, adding that it plans to establish relationships with multinational companies the likes of Coca-Cola, Nestlé, Colgate and P&G, among others.
