US injection moulding company Nypro (Clinton, Massachusetts / USA; www.nypro.com) has announced the closure of its French plant in Fonteny-sur-Eure at the end of 2017 due to difficult market conditions and declining revenues. The search for a buyer is to be launched shortly. The measure will affect 115 jobs.

Nypro France – a company specialised in medical devices, including insulin pens, and dimensionally stable packaging for foods and hygiene products – has been subject to considerable competition pressure for a number of years, which has also been accompanied by a loss of orders, a spokesman explained.
The company's production of medical devices is to be relocated to the Irish facilities in Bray and Waterford, the spokesman added when contacted by Plasteurope.com, while its packaging activities will go to Plasticos Castella in Tortosa / Spain, which it acquired in 2015 (see Plasteurope.com of 02.10.2015). A total of 45 new jobs will result at these locations, with the majority (37) being created in Ireland.
