Investment in second medical devices plant in Ireland
Significant growth in its healthcare business has prompted Nypro Healthcare in Ireland, a subsidiary of US-based Nypro (Clinton, Massachusetts; www.nypro.com) to invest in an additional manufacturing plant. The facility in Waterford will manufacture advanced respiratory and injectable devices for its global pharmaceutical customers.
In the first phase, more than 200 new jobs will be created, said Nypro. The Irish government is supporting the investment through IDA Ireland. Nypro Healthcare has operated in Bray, Ireland, since 1980.
In February, Nypro reached agreement with US electronic manufacturing services company, Jabil Circuit (St. Petersburg, Florida; www.jabil.com), to be acquired in a deal worth an estimated USD 665m – see Plasteurope.com of 07.02.2013.
