EPS shape moulding resin with recycled content now available / Collaboration with Rapac
Nova Chemicals (Calgary, Alberta / Canada; www.novachem.com) has launched a new EPS shape moulding resin with a 25% recycled content. The producer worked with Rapac (Oakland / USA; www.ringcompanies.com/rapachome), a PS and EPS recycling specialist, to develop the R625B resin.
“This resin conserves natural resources and is expected to spur market development of EPS recycling,” said John Thayer, a global business director at Nova. The resin contains 75% virgin EPS from Nova’s Beaver Valley facility in Monaca, Pennsylvania / USA and 25% “EcoSix” recycled PS from Rapac, and is suitable for protective packaging and other shape moulding applications.
