Norwegian plastics think tank inaugurates Indian subsidiary / First office abroad
The growth strategy of Norway’s Independent Industrial Polymer Institute Norner (Stathelle; www.norner.no) continues, as the petrochemical think tank recently inaugurated its new subsidiary in India, Norner Mimir India (New Delhi) – see also Plasteurope.com of 06.07.2011. This is Norner’s first subsidiary abroad, reflecting not only the research establishment’s existing ties to the subcontinent, but also its estimated business potential in the region.

Like its Norwegian parent company, Norner Mimir India will deliver R&D services to clients within the plastics value chain, including on issues such as catalyst development and polymerisation, value-added products, additives and certified testing. “I am very satisfied with the developments for Norner in India so far and am very optimistic about what Norner can achieve in the growing Indian market,” said the institute’s CEO Tine Rorvik.
Lars Evensen has been named new managing director of Norner Mimir, whose staff also include Ashutosh Gupta, Shailendra Solanky and Rajish Raghu.
