NORDMANN, RASSMANN
Acquisition of French Copci-Metamine announced
German distributor Nordmann, Rassmann (NRC, Hamburg; www.nrc.de) has welcomed a new member to its NRC Group: France's Copci-Metamine (www.copcimetamine.com) based in Annecy and a distributor of speciality chemicals for almost 60 years. The acquisition is the second for the family-run business, which scooped up Italian distributor Jointec (Milan; www.jointec.it) in August – see Plasteurope.com of 08.08.2013.
No financial details of the transaction have been provided. Copci-Metamine's staff will remain intact and the company is to continue operating under its own name.
Both companies offer broad portfolios of feedstocks used in applications for rubber, plastics, foodstuffs, lubricants as well as dyes and paint segments. In addition, Copci-Metamine serves industries such as glass ceramics and foundry.
"By becoming a member of the NRC family, we have an opportunity to enter into new industries and win new customers. There are major synergies which can be achieved between NRC and Copci-Metamine, which will help the entire group move ahead on the various markets we serve," noted Copci-Metamine boss François-Xavier Du Passage.

Just as it did following its summer purchase to increase its presence in Northern Italy, the Hamburg-based company reiterated that it plans to continue to grow through further acquisitions.
"In today's market environment it is becoming increasingly important that the entire marketing and sales force of an organisation is active beyond its national border to demonstrate its international capabilities and availability. At least in our business it is the key to success," explained Edgar E. Nordmann, managing partner at NRC.
