License from Ineos for two new PE plants / Commissioning in 2015
Russian petrochemical group Nizhnekamskneftekhim (Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan; www.nknh.ru) has licensed Ineos Technologies’ (Rolle / Switzerland; www.ineos.com) “Innovene G” and “Innovene S” PE technologies for two new 300,000 t/y PE plants to be built at group headquarters in Nizhnekamsk. The new lines are scheduled to come on stream in 2015 or 2016.

The two licenses will allow Nizhnekamskneftekhim to upgrade its portfolio to include metallocene LLDPE film, PE-100 pipe grades, bimodal HMW HDPE film as well as bimodal blow moulding and HDPE commodity moulding grades.

According to Plasteurope.com’s Polyglobe capacity database (www.polyglobe.net), the group already operates a 250,000 t/y HD/LLDPE swing line at the site and is planning to bring on stream an additional 1m t/y of ethylene in 2015. That feedstock would presumably go towards feeding the two new lines.
