Nissei Plastic Industrial (Nagano-ken / Japan; www.nisseijushi.co.jp) on 1 April 2013 completed the construction of a facility in Thailand on 1 April 2013 to produce moulding machines. Production equipment is currently being installed in the factory, which will be ready for full-scale operation next month. Subsidiary Nissei Plastic Machinery (Thailand), which was established in May 2012, will operate the plant which will be the second overseas unit for Nissei, adding to one in Taicang / China.
The facility is located in the Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate in Rayong province, 117 km southeast of Bangkok and 30 km east of Laem Chabang port. Four types of mid-size hybrid injection moulding machines from the FNX series will be manufactured and the company expects to produce 120 units in the first year of operation.
A capital investment of THB 280m, or EUR 7.5m has been made in the new company, which numbered 38 employees as of 1 April. Nissei said the Thai production company will be the gateway to Southeast Asia where it is aiming to grow sales as well as in West Asia, and Thailand itself. The company also said it would utilize Free Trade and Economic Partnership Agreements to strategically plan global sales.
Nissei already has a representative office and a sales subsidiary in Thailand as well as a technical centre. The company said establishing a subsidiary in the country will reinforce coordination with production, sales and service to promote further expansion of the business.
