Nexam Chemical (Lund / Sweden; www.nexamchemical.com) is to takeover masterbatches and compounds specialist Plasticolor (Lomma / Sweden; www.plasticolor.se) for SEK 116m (around EUR 11.7m). Focused on additives for PE pipes, PET foams and high-performance polyimide applications, Nexam will gain capacity and customers as well as additional colours expertise with the transaction.

The complementary businesses are expected to facilitate the launch of "Nexamite Multifunctional Masterbatch", which is made up of a combination of several additives. Plasticolor employs around 30 people and has production facilities in Dunaharaszti / Hungary, Gądki / Poland, and Nova Pazova / Serbia, as well as at its headquarters in Lomma. The company has sales of around SEK 86m (EUR 0.9m) and an operating margin of 15%. With 15 employees, Nexam saw its revenues rise in 2016 by 5.4% to SEK 8.3m.
