For more than 20 years, Daniel Stricker has helped define the print and online content of Plasteurope.com’s sister publication Kunststoff Information – KI, and for more than 16 years, he has shaped its profile as editor in chief. Now he is leaving the KI Group at the end of the year to seek out new challenges in self-employment.

We say goodbye to an outstanding colleague and a person who is highly regarded throughout our industry. For more than two decades, he has been a source of inspiration and ideas, making key contributions to the development of the KI Group and its services.

He has always been forward-thinking, anticipated the needs of the industry and pursued profitable solutions. The Polyglobe capacity database (www.polyglobe.net), “KI Group Summits” and seminars, but especially the KI and Plasteurope.com polymer price and market reports and its online tools would have been unthinkable without him.

In addition to these achievements, Stricker is a noted expert on the global plastics markets whose expertise is in high demand at countless events organised by companies and associations as well as in management meetings. Hardly anyone knows and can present the connections between petrochemicals and plastics, their market mechanisms and global trends in breadth and depth as well as him.

His colleagues appreciate his collaborative approach and management. He challenged and encouraged, motivated and respected. And when push came to shove, he was the last to turn off the lights in the editorial office.

He will be succeeded by Peter Reinhardt, currently editor-in-chief of DeviceMed at Vogel-Verlag. Until then, KI deputy editor-in-chief Sven Arnold will temporarily take over Stricker’s duties.
