“Chinaplas” presence to promote “PET-line” and “Elion” injection moulding machines / Growing Chinese custom caps and closures market
Swiss injection moulding machinery manufacturer Netstal (Nafels; www.netstal.com), part of KraussMaffei (KM, Munich / Germany; www.kraussmaffeigroup.com), will be demonstrating its systems and applications capabilities for the Chinese market at "Chinaplas" in Shanghai (www.chinaplasonline.com), with injection moulding machines and a comprehensive range of services in applications across a range of industries.

The company said that it is experiencing growing demand from the Chinese market for its “PET-line” 2400 and 4000 and “Elion” 4200 machines in particular. David Tso, sales manager for Netstal brand machines in China, said that the “Elion” range has been expanded to include 4,200 kN clamping force and that customers in China are recognising that “PET-line” machines offer a competitive advantage, with both product lines being characterised by low power consumption, high precision and short cycle times.
The company said that it sees opportunities in the growing Chinese custom caps and closures market, where the precision and speed of its machines make them suitable for use in the sector, combining maximum output at minimum unit cost. It is also seeing growing potential for its high speed in-mould labelling technology in the Asian packaging market, Tso said.
The country’s medical technology sector additionally provides applications for the all-electric “Elion” series, which is suited to the manufacture of clean room components.

Open house event at production plant in Haiyan during Chinaplas
The KraussMaffei Group is also continuing to tactically improve its strategic position on the Asian market with the expansion of production at its Chinese plant in Haiyan. As part of an open house event (23 to 25 April) to coincide with the opening of the extension to the plant, customers and visitors to Chinaplas will have the opportunity to see the innovations of the KM brands. Netstal will show what its machines have to offer in the medical technology sector in the Haiyan plant's new demonstration centre. PET blood collection tubes will be manufactured on an all-electric Elion with a 2,200 kN clamping force. As a demonstration plant for the beverage industry, Netstal installed a complete PET-line system with cooling and drying units in China back in September 2013.
