Porvoo refinery shuts down for turnaround in April
Finnish oil refiner Neste (Espoo; www.neste.com) has started shutting down units for a major turnaround at its domestic Porvoo refinery. Maintenance is set to kick off in mid-April once the process is completed.

The company expects the turnaround to continue until mid-May, adding that the maintenance does not affect its harbour and distribution terminal operations.

Without mentioning specifics, Neste said the process includes first steps towards making Porvoo “the most sustainable refinery in Europe by 2030 and to reach carbon-neutral production by 2035”, for which it ultimately plans to invest a total of around EUR 2.5 bn.
