Purchase of US thermoformed packaging company Computer Designs closed / Presence boosted in North American and Caribbean healthcare markets
US thermoformed packaging producer Nelipak (Cranston, Rhode Island; www.nelipak.com) has finalised its acquisition of Computer Designs (Whitehall, Pennsylvania / USA; www.computer-designs.com). Financial terms were not disclosed.
Computer Designs makes thermoformed rigid packaging, mainly for the medical market where its customers include some of the major medical device and pharmaceutical companies in the USA and Latin America. The company has manufacturing operations in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Arizona and Puerto Rico. Its products include trays, clamshells and blister packs.
Nelipak said the acquisition strengthens its commitment to the North American healthcare market and will allow the company to take advantage of growth opportunities in North America, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and the broader Caribbean region.
The business will now operate under the name of Nelipak Healthcare Packaging and further develop its products and service capabilities for the healthcare market. Mike Kelly, Nelipak’s president and CEO, said: “We will leverage the unique capabilities of both organisations to delight our customers with innovative designs, world-class quality and excellent service.”
