NEGRI BOSSI
Machinery manufacturer to be “reborn” as system supplier / International approach
The new management of leading Italian injection moulding machinery manufacturer Negri Bossi (Monzese; www.negribossi.it) is implementing a restructuring plan following the company´s first-half 2005 EBIT loss of EUR 3.8m on sales of EUR 45.5m. Negri Bossi president Augusto Machirelli, who is also CEO of parent company Sacmi Imola (Imola / Italy; www.sacmi.com) and its H.P.S. holding, wants to remake the subsidiary in Sacmi´s image, as a provider of complete system solutions. At the same time, a more international approach to the markets will be sought.

Ceramics technology group Sacmi acquired Negri Bossi at the beginning of 2002, and in the meantime has created a new division, Sacmi Plastics. Other group companies include injection moulding machinery producers BM Biraghi (www.bmbiraghi.it), Oima (www.oima.it) and material handling and robotics specialist Gaiotto Automation. Oima is currently part of Negri Bossi, but in future will be run directly by the holding.
