Sweden’s Nefab (Jönköping; www.nefab.com) has acquired US sustainable thermoformed cushioning company Reflex Packaging Group (Santa Ana, California; www.reflexpackaging.com) for an undisclosed sum.
With operations in the Americas, Europe and Asia, Reflex Packaging specialises in designing and manufacturing thermoformed cushioning solutions made from recycled plastics, according to Nefab. The acquisition fits right into the Swedish company’s commitment to save resources in supply chains, a goal supported by Nefab’s July 2020 takeover of Hungary’s Szkaliczki.
Reflex Packaging is to continue to operate as a separate entity within the Nefab group, which is owned by the Nordgren/Pihl family and Swedish holding company FAM (Stockholm; www.fam.se). After the latest acquisition, the Nefab group has over 4,000 employees across 35 countries, with yearly turnover reported at nearly SEK 7 bn (EUR 705m).
