Collaboration with Haitian and Milliken at “K-2016” / Range of PP grades and production of caps and housewares to be demonstrated
Saudi Arabian PP producer National Petrochemical Industrial Company (Natpet, Jeddah; www.natpet.com) is to collaborate with injection moulding machinery producer Haitian International (Hong Kong / China; www.haitianinter.com) and plastics additives supplier Milliken (Spartanburg, South Carolina / USA; www.milliken.com) at “K 2016” (www.k-online.de), to be held in Düsseldorf / Germany from 19 to 26 October. The company will also display a number of examples from its “Teldene” range of PP grades at the show.
Haitian will be moulding cosmetic caps using Natpet’s recently introduced “Teldene” R25MLT-MG random copolymer resin. Another machine builder successfully ran this same grade at the “Chinaplas” industry fair (www.chinaplasonline.com), held in Shanghai / China in April 2016 to produce syringes and needle caps. R25MLT-MG and R40MLT-MG grades have been designed specifically for healthcare applications.
Natpet will also exhibit its “Teldene” R40MLT random copolymer PP grade in the form of a range of storage containers in different colours. R40MLT, which contains Milliken’s “Millad” NX 8000 clarifying agent, is suitable for highly transparent housewares and household appliances and offers improved fluidity for thin-wall injection moulding processes.
The company said that use of Milliken’s additives offered a combination of regulatory food compliance, improved nucleation, transparency and shrinkage control, and a good balance of tensile/impact properties while improving processing efficiencies.
