NAMPAK PLASTICS
Acquisition of FourFourTwo / Complementary blow moulding operations in UK
Rigid plastic container manufacturer Nampak Plastics (Newport Pagnell / UK; www.eu.nampak.com/plastics) has acquired the business of FourFourTwo (Bracknell / UK) for an undisclosed sum, in a transaction that became effective on 1 October. Both companies specialise in the production of blow moulded HDPE milk and juice bottles that they supply to dairy processors and juice manufacturers in the UK and Northern Ireland.
FourFourTwo is a holding company created in early 2007 following a management buy-out from packaging company Elopak (Oslo / Norway; www.elopak.com) that was used to acquire the activities of Auspac (Bracknell / UK) and Elopak Plastic Systems (UK) (Church Broughton, Derby / UK). The Elopak business now trades as EPS (Foston). At the time of the buy-out FourFourTwo had some 60 employees, a 10% share of the UK market for HDPE bottles and a turnover estimated at GBP 15m (EUR 17m). It hoped to increase market share to 15% within three to five years.
