MYRIANT
Bio-succinic acid-based plasticisers to be developed with UPC and Sojitz
US biochemicals producer Myriant (Quincy, Massachusetts; www.myriant.com) has established a three-way joint development agreement with chemicals producer UPC (Taipei / Taiwan; www.upc.com.tw) and Japan’s Sojitz (Tokyo; www.sojitz.com) to promote bio-succinic acid based plasticisers. Plasticiser producer UPC will utilise Myriant’s bio-succinic acid in the manufacture of bio-based, phthalate-free plasticisers. At the same time, Sojitz, Myriant’s sales and marketing partner, will work closely with UPC in sales of its branded bio-based plasticisers.

Myriant has recently been forming a network of market development and distribution partners, including Sojitz, for Asia and the Middle East – see Plasteurope.com of 27.06.2013.
