Guido Ghisolfi, vice president and managing director of Gruppo Mossi & Ghisolfi (M&G, Tortona / Italy; www.gruppomg.com), on 3 March was found dead in what local media report appears to have been a suicide. He was 58 years old.
The son of the company’s founder, Vittorio Ghisolfi, oversaw the group’s biofuels and renewables business, a field in which he “showed outstanding inspiration, courage and dedication”, the company said when announcing his passing. Aside from his activities at the family-owned but globally active company, Guido Ghisolfi also served as CEO of Beta Renewables – a joint venture between M&G and Chemtex specialised in developing second generation bioethanol and chemicals from renewable resources.
