Expansion of PVC-O production capacity in South Africa
PVC-O technology and pipe manufacturer Molecor (Getafe / Spain; www.molecor.com) has recently launched a second manufacturing line of oriented PVC (PVC-O) pipes in Richards Bay, in South Africa's KwaZulu-Natal region, doubling its production capacity of "TOM" PVC-O pipes to 8,000 t/y a year after its first line was launched in mid-2016. Molecor said the latest expansion allows it to gain access to large water projects requiring wide diameter and high pressure pipes.
Molecor and partner Sizabantu Piping Systems (Pinetown / South Africa; www.sizabantupiping.co.za) have already supplied thousands of kilometers of PVC-O pipelines in Africa. These pipelines were certified based on the South African standard SANS 16422.
