MITSUBISHI POLYESTER FILM
USD 20m expansion at South Carolina plant
Mitsubishi Polyester Film (Greer, South Carolina / USA; www.m-petfilm.com) is to invest USD 20m in increased capacity and enhanced production flexibility at its Greer polyester film manufacturing facility. Work is expected to be completed in late 2012.
The investment is in addition to the “Reprocess” sustainable liner programme, a closed loop recycling process for silicone coated polyester liners, currently being rolled out by the company. “Mitsubishi has already invested over USD 200m at its Greer facility over the past 10 years. These new projects continue to reinforce our dedication to the industry,” said Dennis Trice, president and chief operating officer at Mitsubishi Polyester Film, an affiliate of Mitsubishi Plastics (Tokyo / Japan; www.mpi.co.jp/english), which has polyester film assets in Germany, Japan and Indonesia as well as a new plant under construction in China – see Plasteurope.com of 15.10.2010.
