MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL
Dutch Filaments bought as part of investments in 3D printing business
Mitsubishi Chemical (Tokyo / Japan; www.m-chemical.co.jp/en) said its subsidiary Mitsubishi Chemical Performance Polymers Europe (MCPPE) has acquired Dutch Filaments (Helmond / The Netherlands; www.dutchfilaments.com), strengthening its position as a supplier of materials in the 3D printing sector.
Dutch Filaments, one of Europe’s largest polymer-based filament makers, started operations in 2014 and has developed to be one of the major global players in producing filaments for the booming 3D printing industry. The company has a production site in Helmond with over 70 employees. Dutch Filaments CEO and co-founder, Richard Luiken, who will retain his position, said his company could now expand even faster under the new owner.
