Transaction of TPE and PVC activities from Tessenderlo now complete
As expected, Mitsubishi Chemical (Tokyo / Japan; www.m-kagaku.co.jp), a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings (Tokyo; www.mitsubishichem-hd.co.jp/english) has now finalised its purchase of the compound activities for TPE and PVC from Belgian speciality company Tessenderlo (Brussels; www.tessenderlo.com). The two companies had initially announced the plans in February 2013 – see Plasteurope.com from 04.03.2013. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. The anti-trust authorities have given their approval of the acquisition.
The transaction affects four production sites in France (two locations), Poland and China as well as a R&D facility in Belgium and a total of 360 employees. Revenues in 2011 were EUR 120m. Tessenderlo's compounding unit was known as CTS (www.cts-compound.com).
