US machinery supplier Milacron (Cincinnati, Ohio; www.milacron.com) has announced the completion of the sale of its "Uniloy" blow moulding machine business – see Plasteurope.com of 16.05.2019. Osgood Capital Group (Houston, Texas / USA) and Cyprium Investment Partners (Cleveland, Ohio; www.cyprium.com) take over the European and US activities with immediate effect, while the sale transactions in Mexico and India are underway to follow in the third quarter of 2019.
Changes in the US include blow moulding machine manufacturing being relocated from the Milacron plant in Afton, Ohio, to Uniloy's headquarters in Tecumseh, Michigan. In Europe, there are services and support based in the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy and the UK, with the European technical centre in Magenta / Italy. The Latin American market is served as before, with a technical centre in Querétaro / Mexico.
President and CEO Brian Marston will be supported with the appointments of vice presidents Chris Peters (Finance) and Tom McDonald (Operations).
There are also rumours that Milacron is considering the sale of its Cimcool division. The fluids business generates sales of around USD 129m (EUR 115m) and is the smallest of its three divisions, according to Bloomberg. Cimcool produces coolants and other speciality fluids and is estimated to be worth around USD 300m.
