Milacron’s (Cincinnati, Ohio / USA; www.milacron.com – see Plasteurope.com of 03.05.2019) planned sale of its blow moulding machine business includes all its plants, distribution and service units and the "Uniloy" brand, a group spokesperson confirmed to Plasteurope.com. Nothing is evidently known about the date of the sale or a potential buyer as yet.

In addition to the US plastics technology and equipment supplier’s plant in Policka / Czech Republic, the blow moulding division also has two production plants in the US – Tecumseh, Michigan, for blow moulds and Afton, Ohio, for blow moulding machines. Until the sale is complete, Milacron’s plant in India will continue to produce Uniloy machines for the Asian market. Added to this comes its service and support site in Magenta / Italy, which handles service and repairs, and a team of experts divided over Italy, Germany, the Czech Republic and the UK. It has distribution and service activities also in the Americas and Asia.

Around 5,000 Uniloy machines are currently in operation, including 1,500 in Europe. The Milacron spokesperson put overall production capacity at 125 to 150 machines per year, plus 15 to 20 major overhauls. According to Milacron, the future owner will be providing the service and spare parts for these machines.
