Container manufacturer expands business in Poland, Singapore, China
US container supplier Mauser Packaging Solutions (Oak Brook, Illinois; www.mauserpackaging.com) said it has increased operations at its site in Gliwice, Poland, to offer reconditioning of intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) and plastic drums.

The company reported that it has also installed a new multilayer flow moulding machine for plastic drums to help meet growing consumer demand for its Infinity brand products. The range is made from Mauser’s Recolene recycled resin, which the company manufactures from waste plastics collected through its Recover Syst-M network.
Plant manager Lukasz Wesolowski said the new production site also allows the company to offer customers “even greater security of supply, flexibility in order fulfillment, new product opportunities, and the chance to reduce their carbon footprints.”

The Polish project follows a similar expansion in Singapore, where Mauser announced in April that it had added a line to produce UN-certified tight-head plastic drums, again expanding the availability of its Infinity brand.
The company reported that it opened a new manufacturing facility in China in March, which expands production of 230-litre and 250-litre plastic drums used in various industries, including chemicals, oil, paint, and food and drinks. The plant is said to be located in the Economic Development Zone of Haiyan, which is near Shanghai and the Jinshan Chemical Zone and Ningbo, where many large chemical companies have manufacturing facilities.
Mauser said the facility meets food industry requirements, and the company is working towards gaining ISO 9001 and 14000 certifications for the plant’s quality management and environmental management systems, respectively.
“With the opening of a second production facility in China we are excited to take a meaningful step forward in expanding our product offerings and increasing capacity to support the Chinese market and multinational customers now and in the future,” said Ali Ozbudak, vice-president, head of Asia-Pacific.
