Four industrial packaging companies – Bway (Atlanta, Georgia / USA), Mauser (Brühl / Germany), Mauser subsidiary the National Container Group (NCG) and Industrial Container Services (ICS, Maitland, Florida / USA) – have merged to form a single company named Mauser Packaging Solutions (Oak Brook, Illinois / USA; www.mauserpackaging.com). The new merger belongs to holding company Stone Canyon Industries (Los Angeles, California / USA; www.stonecanyonllc.com).
Mauser Packaging Solutions is a global supplier of IBCs and other metal and plastic industrial containers. With 11,000 employees, the new company puts its consolidated sales at USD 4 bn (EUR 3.5 bn). It will be led by CEO Ken Roessler, who had been appointed head of SCI Packaging at the beginning of 2018 – see Plasteurope.com of 30.01.2018.
In April 2017, SCI acquired the Mauser group for around USD 2.3 bn, and initially managed it separately from its Bway business unit, which was also focused on industrial metal and plastic containers. The holding company then announced in June 2018 that it would acquire market player ICS for about USD 1 bn from US investment company Centerbridge Partners, and merge it with Bway.
