The Mauser Group (Brühl / Germany; www.mausergroup.com) has started the production of intermediate bulk containers (IBC) at its site in St. Priest / France (see also Plasteurope.com of 13.10.2016). "The location near Lyon is the ideal addition to our production sites in northern France and Italy," said Frédéric Binard, head of the Mauser production units in southern Europe, at the official opening ceremony on 23 February.
The IBC reconditioning system was put into operation together with the Mauser subsidiary National Container Group (NCG, www.nationalcontainer.com) and the joint venture partner Janus Vaten (Oosterhout / The Netherlands, www.janusvaten.nl). With the new facility in St. Priest, they are opening the 15th NCG site in Europe and expanding their global network to 43 locations, said Ernest van den Boogerd, head of the NCG activities in Europe.
In St. Priest, Mauser has to date only produced steel drums for the chemical, petrochemical, crop protection and food sectors. A line for the production of plastic drums is to follow.
