Margaret Georgiadis appointed CEO designate of US toy giant
On 8 February 2017, Margaret Georgiadis will take over as CEO of toy manufacturer Mattel (El Segundo, California / USA; www.mattel.com). She succeeds Christopher Sinclair, who first assumed the role of chief executive in 2015, and will in future serve as executive chairman of the board.
Georgiadis previously served as president Americas at Google, a position she held from 2011 to 2017. Her career also included stints at Groupon, Discover Financial Services and McKinsey & Company. Georgiadis serves on the boards of directors of McDonald’s Corporation as well as renewable materials specialist Amyris.
The US toy manufacturer posted flat sales in Q3 2016, with adjusted operating income of USD 324m, compared to USD 317m in the same quarter of 2015.
