Magna (Aurora, Ontario / Canada; www.magna.com) has inaugurated another production plant in Chomutov / Czech Republic. The facility in the northwestern part of the country is scheduled to begin manufacturing car seats for various BMW models before the end of 2018. It will start with 150 employees, and 150 more will be added in the course of 2019. With a production area of 6,000 m², it has a targeted capacity of more than 360,000 seats per year.

Magna's vehicle seat segment operates 16 plants in Europe, five of which are in the Czech Republic. The group has more than 339 production sites worldwide and a workforce totalling 173,000 employees.
